Why We Need Accident Medical Insurance
Accidents do happen. Often times serious enough to incur high medical bills.  Does the Home School Organization have any obligation to make sure the medical bills are covered? There are risks inherent in all sorts of activities.  Even the safest program will never avoid all accidents and injuries.  That's why Home School Organizations need to make sure there is insurance that covers any of the gaps in the parents' insurance coverage. For a very nominal fee per student, Accident Medical insurance can fill the gaps and cover the larger claims that are above other policy limits.

Why We Need General Liability Insurance
Participants -
Should a participant’s action or non-action cause an injury or damage to others. The General Liability Insurance will protect all insured parties. Should the participant be injured the Accident Medical Coverage  will respond.

Spectators - Should a spectator be injured or their property damaged a participant, the General Liability policy will provide coverage for all injured parties.

Volunteers - Should a volunteer’s actions or non-action cause an accident or injury. The event organizer, sponsors and municipality may be named in a lawsuit. General Liability coverage will protect them all.

Sponsors - Most sponsors require the team, league or association to provide them General Liability protection, should they be named in a lawsuit against the team, league or association participant.

Municipalities and Facilities - Most municipalities and other facilities that a team, league or association may use are requiring General Liability Insurance to protect themselves from the cost of legal representation and damages should they be named in a law suit against the team, league or association.  Municipalities and other facilities will require a Certificate of Insurance naming them as additional insured under the Events General Liability Policy.

Waivers
General Liability
Waivers must be completed for every student, non-employee teacher and volunteer of any Group or Group Event.

A General Liability Waiver form allows for "informed consent" by the participant.  It is an effective way to ensure that the Group has acted with due diligence in informing the participant of the potential risks to which he/she may be exposed to while participating in the activity or event.

A waiver allows for a clear indication to the participant that the Group does not assume any responsibility for the risks, dangers and hazards associated with participation in the Group or Event.

A waiver normally included assumption of risks and responsibilities by the participant.

Waivers must be completed by all participants and the Group must keep the completed waivers on file.
